Mr. Ralph Dargan, of Spartan burg, is visiting friends in town this week. Misses Marie and Lucio Folger, of Easley, are visiting Miss Corrio Bruce this week. J. T. Hitt, of Maynard, was in town Monday and reports good crops in his section. Rev. 0. L. Durant began a re. vival meeting at Bethlehem Sun day and is hopeful of good results. The many friends of T. L. Nor ris hereby announe hun as a can didate for cotton weigher at Lib orto. Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Looper are visiting their daughter, Mrs. A. J. Boggs, at Fort Hill this week. Rev. T. J. Rooko began a pro tacted meeting at Enon Sunday and the indications are encourag ing for good results. Born to Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Jen nings, last Saturday, August the 8d, a fine fourteen pound boy T his is the sixth boy at their. home. John Elford Hill, of Dacusville, was in town Monday en route to Old Pickens to visit relatives and friends. He was accompanied by his three childron. A very gracious revival is in progress at Secona. Rev. J. E. Foster is conducting the services and his labors have already boen blessed by the accession of eight members to the church. Miss Anna McCollum was con mnitted to the Lunatic Asylum by Probate Judge Nowbory on the 13d inst. Drs. Earle and Smith made the certificate. She wont to Col umbia Monday in chargo of Depu ty Sheriff E. G. McDaniel. Rev. 0. L. Durant conducted a protracted meeting at the Moetho dist church in town last weok. There wvere no accessions to the church, but the efforts of the pas tors were blessed by arousing deep er interest in the cause of Christ among the membership. Prof. J L. Murphroo will con duct a singing at Mountain Grove church next Sunday evening, the 11th instant. He will begin a school at that place on the 12th. All person~s should learn to sing and here is an opportunity for the Mountain Grove people. Don't be impatient if your ar ticle does not appear in the first issue, for it is in all p)robability of a character that will bo0 good1 read ing at any time and hence can en dure delay, while others have to be published immediately or not 'at all. A deal of wholesome advice is contained in the following wich should be road with much in terest : "If you have frdquent fainting spells, accompllanied by chills, bun ions, cramps, chilblaims, epilepsy or juandwce, it is a sign that you are not well, and are liable to (lio at any minute.
