Kinch has moved into the. ihmore house, recently vacated - Dr. J. F. Williams. Tro asurer Youngblood has given 168 tax receipts, which represent yout $23,000. About $15,000 yet imain to be collected. Sheriff McDaniel has in custody om Smith, Alias John Smith, a >lored individual, who is suspect I of being an escaped convict. Mrs. J. D. Cureton, who has eon visiting her mother, Mrs. ,add, in Winsboro for several veeks, returned home last Satur lay. Auditor Christopher ia taken 3harge of his office, and will be on iis rounds commencing at Calhoun Jan. 15th, taking returns for the fiscal year. Will Wright, colored, was com mitted to jail in default,of bail by Trial Justice Merck on the 16th instant, to answer the charge of forgery at the next term of the sessions court. John Fant, who lives in George's Crook section, was examined in the Probate Court on the 11th in stant and was declared, a lunatic. He was cairied to tho asylum Wodnesday by Sheriff McDamel. V. 1-1. Addington was arrested by Deputy Marshal Jeiings last Friday, and gave bond to answer before Commissioner Thornley for the charge of retailing spirituous liquor without paying the special tax. Orders for the -ome and Farm, and The Farm News have boon sent, so that all subscribers would begin to get their paqers in Jani ary. If they do not arrive en time, report it to the JOURNAL Of fice at once. 2t. The storo of W. M. Hagood & Co., of Easloy, was entered by ur glers onm the night of the 14th in stant. K. Stephens, was working at Smith & Pitt's shingle mill near Concord Church on the 15th instant and met with misfortune of get ting his hand iacerated b~y the shingle saw. Deata of Alfred J. Moseley. Last night at 9 o'clock after a long illness AlfrcdJ. Mosoloydied at tihe residenco of his father-in law, Lewis Green, at Greer's, this county. Mr. Mosoley was a nativo of Abbevillo co'unty and was about 40-years old. Ho was a nephew of Major Bonjamin McDaniel, who was for years clork of the court of this county and the most popular man personally and the most pow erful politically since the war. Mr. Mosoley was Major Mc Daniel's assistant ten years and naturally succeeded him in office by popular vote, serving eight yearsas clerk. Greenville News. Dots Froin Praterm. AIR. EDITon: Prof. J. M. During* the snov storm, Mr. James -Bradley ha built a dwelling house over branch, in a narrow hollow, th sills on the edge of the house wa near the ground, but the middli of the house was six or eight foe high, and the piazza between twelv and sixteen feet from the ground Mr. Bradley had moved all bu ono load, and had gone for it whil his wife and four, of his childro were arranging and placing thing to their place.
