HOLDS ( H1LDREN WITH HIM Stories of human interest are ever bobbing up in every corner of this land. Some of them are revolting; in some respects, yet curry with them, in *pite <>j all. something thut appeals to the interest of others, in a way not avoided. Things which concern the more important affairs of life, take hold of Dur minds with such a mighty hold, we cannot refrain from thinking. ft matters not as to ttie station in life of those directly concerned. It may lie in the city of ten* of thousand*; it may be in the rural district where homes are few and fai between. Near the railroad siding known as [lorry, there is a man, D. W. Tompkins:, by name. Tompkins was in trouble because his wife left him on the day before and pn Friday she was at the home of her sister threatening to take the children away from their rather and keep them to live with her. Her sister is the wife of Zander Cannon. There was trouble before this parting of the ways of married for the.se two. The wife is about twenty-seven years of age, while Tompkins appears to he older than that. It was about a month ago that Tompkins took up his, gun and went to look for the one he thought had brought differences be tween himself and his family which could never be removed from the minds of both, llis looking did not result in finding' and then lietter judgment prevailed and after a day of nh hence things were patched up, a kind of truce was called, but onl\ for tetn porary duration; for things like this may at times appear to he condoned and forgotten by both sides of the house, only to crop up at the first opportunity like the touching of a ma'.ch to powder. The fair weather did not last more than a month and it was on last Thursday that the match touched the powder and the old trouble was up and ablaze once more and one word brought on another until Tompkins was left alone, apparently for good, except for the three innocent little children which he had to keep by force. What a pity! Those three innocent babies! When men and women deride to do wrong how great it is when, for the sake of their children, they can face out their discontent and quit their bickerings, and go ahead on the toad riTATTON NOTICF I State of South Carolina, County of Horry, by J.
