crops all over Horry County. They
have but little time except for looking!
after the gathering of the leaves and
the barns where the leaves are being
cured. Some of the finest crops are

W. F. Stackhouse of Marion, S. C.,
was among those who spent some time
in Conway last week attending to
business. He is back in Conway this
week and will spend several days
while engaged in the trial of cases before
the court.

lead all of the counties of South Carolina

the name of being the 'largest market
at the present time, but this may
not always be the case.

Solomon Scherr has been postponed j

to Myrtle Beach has been going

caught into a light blaze and began
burning the grass nearby which looked
to be perfectly green. The flames
were whipped out by a bystander be- J
fore the framework had caught. It is ^

It was picked from his field of

VISITS CONWAY
The Rev. Furman H. Martin, one of
the visitors at the Baptist Conference
held at Myrtle Beach last week, spent
o!ne time in Conway last Thursday.
Dr. Martin occupied an important
place on the program at the conference.
Dr. Martin is a former Horrvite
luit for many years now he has been
connected as pastor with some of the
largest churches of the South and ar

FINK CANTALOUPES.
F. A. Stalvey brought to The Herald
office the first of the week a freak
cantaloupe gathered from his one
fourth acre field. This cantaloupe was
a twin, the two being joined together
all the way along the length of the
melons and having a stem that was
united in the same way.
Mr. Stalvey has raised as fine a
crop as could be desired with exception
that the dry weather burned thftm
during last week causing the tops to
show signs of sunburn.
