It is one of a number of such schools established by the Baptist denomination. The school was located at Vannamaker, in this County, and it will !>e open for students on October 3rd, 1921, being conducted, of course, in the Wannamaker School liuilding until the plans for the erection of the regular acedemy buildings can l?e tarried out. It will be a first class high school for preparing students for college. It is intended to furnish educational advantages to the section of this state composed of Marlboro, Marion, Dillon and Horry C'< unties, hence the name which has been selected for the school.
