The Development Board, through its officers, has made a careful and critical study of the cooperative marketing of fruits and vegetables as carried on in California. It has studied the off-shoots of the California Plan as seen in the plans for marketing tobacco, peanuts, cotton, grain. At this time too much cannot be said in favor of the effort being made tc "sign up" the cotton growers in South Carolina. Put this plan ovei and the cooperation necessary for the marketing of other commodities will bo made easier. It is our opinion not enough attention is being given by the press tc the analysis of the cotton contract Won't you run the summary of the contract prepared by Professor D. W Watkins? The crop contract provided by tin Organization Committee of the Soutl Carolina Cotton Growers' Co-opera tive Association has been analyze< and summarized by D. W. Watkins assistant director of the Extcnsioi Service, for the convenience of thos< who want a quick view of the verj comprehensive contract. Summary of (""'ton Contract. (1) The association is strictly co operative. (2) Only cotton farmer can join, and the association belongto them. (3) There is no stock an< there are no profits. Proceeds ar paid to the farmers after deducting all expenses of the association. (4 All farmers are treated exactly alik< ?no partiality?all sign the sam contract. (5) Good grades bring; ; good price?poor grades not so j;oc.f] (0) The association is not trying ti fix the price, but to get it for th farmer. (7? P. Fisher, of Med ford Hillside, Mass, died at the Massachusetts Homeopathic Hospital, Boston, of Cancerous tumor on the brain on July 21. She was born in Lanark, 111. Daughter of the late Orland C. and Susan E. Hanson. She was a member of the church also of Metiphysical club, and Daughters of the Revolution. She was a teacher in the Russell School of Expression and Literature, Boston. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her husband Thos. P. Fisher, two s?ns Carroll S. and Theodore R. Fisher, two sisters Mrs. Louise H. Lee of No. Sandwich N. H. and Mrs. Moynie H. Sturtevant, of Somerville, Mass., one brother Mr. R. O. Hanson of Wilmington, N. C. The funeral services were held in St. James M. E. Church Storreham Mass., conducted by Rev. Chas. Stackpole, assisted by Rev. N. B.
