GOOD TITLE NEEDED.
Some people who thought they had
perfect titles for their lands found
out they had serious defects in it
when they tried to get money from
the Federal Land Hank of Columbia.
This shows how important it is thai
the owner of land should find out a
scon as possible about any flaw that
J may exist in his title and take steps

PERHAPS THE ANSWER.
On the bulletin board at the towr
hall yesterday there was written
across it a statement that there ar13d
absent from the Burroughs
Iligh School, while only 14 are re
ported sick by the doctors, and thi
was followed by a low of questio
points.
If these figures are correct i'
shows that all of the absent except
the fourteen sick ones, are stayino
at home because they are afraic
they will catch the flu. This show
that the public is in favor of elosin i
the school.
o
YOUR NEW CAR.
You buy a new car and pay a high
price for it and you never stop to
think that the bad roads of this section
of the State will take off at
least one half the value of it befon
you have run it a single mile. Thii
is the truth but you have never
stopped to figure it up. With goo-.'
roads in every direction the value o'
your car would stand at what yo
paid for it for a long time, at least
for your purposes and in your own
estimation.
Why did we not say something
about an old car? We didn't men
tion those, for the reason that 01
such bad roads as we have in min i
old cars are worth absolutely noth
ir.g. You couldn't give them away,
so far as we are concerned.
