TRAINING OF MEN
AT S. UNIVERSITY
I
The delay in the assignment of another
vocational unit at the University
of South Carolina was explained
today in a telegram to President
Currel from the Committee on Education,
Washington, D. C. The telegram
stated that the vocational section
which they had expected to send
to the University on November the
r: a. ...... .j_i i i i.i
iir.M was uemyeu ut'causv 01 uiu insufficient
equipment of woolen goods.
As soon as the government can
supply the Commanding Officers
with sufficient woolen clothing and
blankets, the next vocational Training
Company will be ordered to report
to the University for instructions.
The Committee on Education
has promised to advise President
Currell in the near future as to the
date on which they expect to send
the next vocational men to the University.
This will be the third group of
men trained by the University as
automobile mechanics, truck drivers,
radio telephone electricians, duplex
telegraphers and meterologists, and

hundred men who have been assigned
to the University for a special
training since the first of July. The
second group of men receiving vocational
training having been sent to
their respective camps a week ago.
Names of Horry boys just finished
at the University appear elsewhere
in this issue of the paper.
