)r. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin
the Family Laxative for
Many Years.
i
Mrs. Aug. Doellcfeld of Carlyle,
11., recently wrote to Dr. Caldwell
it Montkello, 111., that she has used
3r. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin in her
lome for a number of years. an<'
vould not be without it, us with it
;he has been able to keep her foui
hildren in perfect health.
Dr. Caldwell's " Syrup Pepsin is o
combination of simple laxative herbs
vith pepsin that acts on the bowels
n an easy, natural way, and reguates
the action of this most import?nt
function. Nearly all the sickness
:o which children are subject is trs'*0
ible to bowel inaction, and a mild
iependable laxative, such as Dr. t arn *
well's Syrup Pepsin should have a >
place in every family medicine ch^st. *
It is pleasant to the taste and child- *
ren like it. and take it readily, while t
it is equally effective for adults. *
Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is sold (
in drug- stores everywhere for fifty 1
cents a bottle. To avoid imitations 1
UNIVERSITY NOTES. t
The ba ie ball t^am will leave to- J
morrow for Nowbervy where they will 1
?pon the season with the Newberry (
ollooe team. Carolina has a p-nod I
strong* bunch this year. Probably the I;
weakest spot will be in the pitching, i
but the boys here on the campus are j
extremely optomistic over the pros- i
pects for a winning team. Under tho ]
careful tutelage of Coach Fostor sev- <
eral of the pitching prospects have
developed rapidly and will be no sur- \
prise to the students here if we have s
two or three good boxmen before the ]
season closes. From Newberry the j
team will go to Spartanburg where t
they will play Wofford on Saturday, i
Wofford usually has a good team and ,
is considered a pennant prospect each i
year. .
Dr. E. O. Brown, professor of
church history and comparative re- ,
ligions at Vanderbilt University, delivered
four addresses before the stu- .
dent body on Wednesday and Thurs- 1
day of last week. He was unable to
deliver his first scheduled lecture on
Tuesday night because of missing a ]
train connection in Charlotte. His lec- ,
tures were enjoyed very much indeed
bv thp wholo stiwlont hrwlv u? was

At the last meeting of the moot- j
court held Thursday night Dean John
P. Thomas gave a very interesting ]
lecture to the law association. His ]
subject was "Book Plates." The lec- )
ture was the same one recently de- ]
livered before a teachers meeting
Kelei in Columbia and was enjoyed ]
very much indeed. There was also a j
short trial of a ckVil case.

Howard Little was seen over about
the Post Office recently. It is 1
strange how Dock Singleton and
Howard can room on the campus and
never he seen by any one except
their professors, and possibly a certain
co-ed who has some classes with
Singieton. These boys are two of
the most studious on the campus, and
are surely making good.
Wilson Lowrimore continues to
come down and look the boys over.
He came down the other night and
after going over the political situation
in South Carolina for the next
forty-four years, announced that he
was making arrangements to try and
be in Conway this coming summei
[luring the tobacco season. Wilson
says he knows as much about tobacco
now as he does about poiiti \s and
if such be true then the buyers who
invade the Horry markets each year
should go way off and take a hack
seat. We hope Wilson can make the
arrangements to follow our tiibc
back to Horry in June where lie can
keep the market on top and help us
make Horry the biggest tobacco market
in the State.
With the return of 'warm weather
many of the boys have been seen
?oing towards the gym.
We are looking forward to the'
