( THURSDAY, FEB. 22, 1917 ! Consider the Ford. It neither eats . or sleeps, but is capable of kicking ' up its heels just the same. o A bad joke that you have found out on your competitor may result only in advertising him. o Printers Ink is a great force hut, there are many who never realize it. i ii I Conway promises to make good this year in the tobacco business. Keep your plans to yourself lest, your enemy oppose you in the carrying out. o That things will come to him who waits does not mean ^hat he can bo idle. o In speaking of the reputation of some men we hardly know whether to say they are infamous, or notorious. ??o One who has his time fully occupied during his working hours takes business when ho heads off duty as a bitter pill before breakfast. You are interferring- with his only time to rest. o Those who persistc ntly move about from year to year, have neve]* studied and understood the old proverb which is to the effect that a rolling stone never gathers any moss. o The weather exerts a powerful influence on some people as well as upon the crops. o That man is fortunate who can keep his troubles to himself, (lonerally he is a blessing to others. c It is utterly impossible to understand the actions of some men and I women and it is useless to try. (live it up as a problem too hard to be solved, as hard as to understand life itself, and give your attention to a study of your own eccentricities and let those of others alone. o Is it possible for a country to be reduced to the lowest plane of existence in this modem age after hundreds of years of civilization and progress? Look at Mexico. Things are being carried in this country to extremes. Beware lest they lead finally to the other point of the compass. y-y * "I " COPY SUMMONS FOR RELIEF (Complaint Not Served.) P < i TfafcHOWjttB Most Effective Ret Mothi Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin Relieves Baby When Other Medicines Failed. ___ There is nothing so necessary to a child's health and comfort as regularity of the bowels. All children are specially susceptible to 6tomach trouble and any overstrain of the sensitive organs has a tendency to obstruct elimination. This condition is responsible for much of the illness of childhood. To relieve constipation a mild laxative should be employed. Cathartics and purgatives are violent in their action and should be avoided. Mrs. Alfred Du Bois, Mt. Holly, N. J., says Dr Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is .viliiout doubt the most effective rem "f 1 y for constipation she has ever used and that it is the only remedy she could find for her baby. Little Earl was badly constipated duiinp us first year and nothing she tried seemed to help him until she got a bottle of Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin. Now he is a fine, strong, healthy boy, and she thanks Dr. Caldwell for it. < Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is a combination of simple laxative herbs RAWLEIGH RETAILER IN WEST HORRY To the Public in West Horry: As my name has never appeared in ur County paper, I bey: to announce hat 1 will be in the Rawleigh business this year.
