Much against the wish of his sweetheart, Leontine Walcott, Jerry starts out from Porto Delgado to seek this treasure. Leontine also is wooed by Sebas-, tian Navarro, an Argentino, who J promises to be true to Jerry. On its voyage, the Portland Girl takes fine and Jerry is the only one saved. John Walcott, Leontine's father, disapproves of Jerry, and favors Sebastian's suit. Walcott's business af-. fairs are in bad shape and as Sebas-1 "tian is a wealthy man, he hopes to we#? Walcott and Sebastian, aroused by Leontine, rush to the room to find Diego dead, while Jerry stands ovei him holding in his hand the iron or namcnt he had picked up from the floor.
