TO THE MEMBERS OF ' WACCAMAW ASS'N. The association will meet with Tilly Swamp church on November 19th, 1915, and in order that I may have time to prepare my report as treasurer of the association I will close my books on Tuesday, November 16th. All funds not in my hands on the above date will not be included in my Report for the year's business. As has already been brought to your attention, we are badly behind with our offerings. Out of forty two churches only one, Cedar Creek, has paid up the full amount asked for. Several have paid nothing. I sincerely hope that some member or members of each church will bring this mat ter before their church and do something to relieve this condition. Respectfully, A. H: LONG, ^ Treasurer Waccamaw Asso'n. o ANNOUNCEMENT. REVIVAL SERVICES ~ At BAPTIST CHURCH The Rev. F. H. Martin of Suffolk, Va., has been conducting a revival meeting at the Conway Baptist church for the past week with many results for good. The congregations have been large and they have listened attentively to the eloquent sermons he has delivered. The meetings are still going on this week. The Rev. Mr. Martin is a native Horryite who has won merited distinction in his chosen life's work. o Death of Nancy Hooks. Nancy Hooks, widow of Patrick Hooks, died on the 13th day of October A. D. 1915. She was confined to her bed three weeks and one day, and her last days seemed to be her happiest. She was very old, feeble being about the age of 84 at the time of her ''^ath. It was hard to part from her. Her husband died on November 3rd, 1697 at the age of seventy-nine years. The deceased was the mother of eleven children. At the time of her death she had sixty-three grand-children, and z? great grand-children. This large family all followed her remains to the church with sad hearts on the day following her death where the funeral exercises were conducted by her pastor, the Rev J. E. Edwards. She joined the Spring Branch Baptist church at an early age and remained a faithful member. After the funeral exercises she was laid to rest beside her husband in the Hooks cemetery. Dear grand-mother is gone but not forgotten. She left many friends to grieve for her. She was loved by everybody that knew her. Her loss to us was very great but we trust that our loss is her eternal gain. We hope to meet her by-and-by to part no more Her Grand-child, JAMES HOOKS.
