This stateJnent is absolutely untrue, as both the House and Senate Journals of 1914 will show. L approved this appropriation and it went through and is now :{ji law. If I had vetoed it there woule certainly have been a record in the journals showing to that effect, am it is now a law, if I had vetoec 'It it would have required a two-thirds lyote to have passed it. You being n (member of the House you certainly should have known this, and 1 am surprised that you should have made flu statement to the/contrary.. I I see further stated that I sus^gbended Magistrate Fo'wles from ollicc jfoocause he issued a warrant for you febout a check. The records show that |Mr. Fowlcs appeard personally with shis attorneys, and acknowledged that lie took and carried away the gate of fthe Misses Slone, of this city, and it 4vas for this that he was suspended. I do not see how you should have made thes^ misstatements when the records are clearly against you, and 1 certainly do not see how you expect to be elected to the Legislature when your opponents can show by the reicords that you are making such stateJfcjnents as these, and I hereby demand Hhat you correct both of these statements at your next campaign meeetv ing.
