Howies of Danville, Va., spent a few days here on business last week, lie is well known to the u b icco men throughout several stales, and he has many friend3 here. Vivian P. Piatt spent a few hours in Conway last week on his way j back lo his studies in Charleston. Mr. Pihtt has many friends both J hero and in the Myrtle Beach sect on. T. J. Bell has accepted his old position behind the birs at the Bjtok of llorry, where his many friends will be g)ad t > see him. By this time everybody has recovered frotn the rush of the holidays and are once more making progress into the new year with a view to bettjr results than ever before. The usual pranks were endulged in on New Years's night by the boys of the town. Large signs were turn ed over and removed to places where they obviously did not belong.
