T. W. Doruian of Hammond, S.
C., attended couit this week with a
number of witnesses, for the fourth
term of the court, at which he hoped
to try Archie M Hardee on a charge 1
of calling him out from his house t
about a year ago, or more, and tir- <
ing on him from the dark, foriunatomissing
him. At Ibo last term, the ,
defendant was gone and did not) an- <
swer to his name, llo was said by
his attorney t > be in tho Sta^e of
Florida snflering from a severe case j
cf rheumatism. The care went over
from that term until this, At the I
present term the prosecutor agreed '
w.ta Hardeo'a friends to have the'
case noil prossed on tho condition
thi t the defendant should remain out
ot ihe Stato. Should he return the
matter will be taken up again.
Teachers' Examination.
Tho next regular teachers' exami-|
nat on will be held at the Court
House in Conway, Friday, Get. 3rd,

Tho State Superintendent thinks
that no special examination for
teachers will be ordered in January.
