The Conway tobacco market openeel
in full blast here on Wednesday
of last week, It was stated by the
wurehouse men and others who fol
lowed the opening sales closely, that
more than -10,000 pounds were sold
on the floors of the three warehouses.
A full corps of buyers wore
present at the sales and the bidding
was lively, the tobacco bringing
around an average of nine and ten
cents per pout-d. The opening
sales of Wednesday were followed
by good sales on Thursday, Friday
and Saturday, at d all of ihi m seem
to be well satislied.
The market now has three warehouses,
all with live men to manage
them, a full corps of buyers for all.
Cant. Bowles ai the Hoirv Ware
house is well known as a hustler in
his line. T. N. Fullertou is at the
head of ihii gs at the new warehouse,
the Feoples Tobacco Warohouse,
and be knows how to attend
the business, while the Farmers is
beii grun this year by Lawrence &
Burroughs, the latter a good business
man, and the former an experienced
tobacco man who is making
things hum. All in all Conway has
a good chauce to beat all of the markets
this year in good handling ol
the weed and the securing of the
highest prices. It is stated that
another warehouse is in contem
plation to be erected in time for
operation next seaeon. The grow
ers are yearly broadening their
acres, and the amount of the weed
sold at Con v ay is steadily, year
by year, increasing, uotwuhstand
ing the erection of warehouses at
other in the county.
The opening sales were of the l
sand lugs or firso primings almost
entirely. Considering this fact the
good price * obtained are.remarkable.
The weed sold higher than ever be
fore and the farmers should not hes
itate to patronizj the Conway mar
ket, and build up the home market.
The buye s were as follows: Mr.
Butler w'rh the Liggett & Myers
Uo,, Mr. Uray, with the American

Imperial Tobacco Co., Mr. llender

Hid Your Children of Worms
You can change fretful, ill-tern per
ed children into healthy, huppy
youngsters, by ridding them of
worms. Tossing, rolling, grinding
of teeth, crying out while asleep,
accompanied with intense thirst,
pains in the st* inach aryl bowuL,
feverishness and bad breath, are
svrnptoms that indicate worms.
Kickapoo Worm Killer, a pleasant
ctndy it .zmge, expols ihj worms,
regulates the bowels, restores your
children to health and happiness.
Mrs J A Brisbin, of Elgin, III., says:
41I have used Kickapoo Worm Kdler

S. T Sessions, as Plaintiff, vs Mollie
B. Moore and E. L. Moore, as Defendants,
and the taking of the testimony
consumed the middle part of
the day, The plaintiff was represented
by II, II. Woodward and the
defendant Mollie B. Moote, by L, 13.
Singleton, Eiqr,
The case involves the foreclosure
of several mortgages given to the
plaintiff by Mollie B. Moore and E.
D. Moore. The first mortgage was
given in 1907, there being two on
the same date, one signed by E L.
Moore alone for the purchase money I
of a new tract of twenty-one acres I
that day purchased by him the!
other signed by E L Moore and Mollie
B. Moore on lifty acres, said to
be the property of the latter. E L
Moore has been in frtquent trouble
in the courts. Some months ago he
and his wife, MollitvB. Moore, moved
to Georgetown aud engaged in the
hotel business. Trouble quickly
arose, E. L. Moore was indicted in
the courts of Georgetown aud convicted
and sentenced. He comple
ted this sentence not long since, and
it is said be is now working at Jack
son, N. C. His wife returned to tho
farm here. Tnis suit was brought
against them for foreclosure of the
mortgages held by S. T. Sessions,
about the time thev had moved away
to Georgetown. E L. Moore made
no answer in the case, but Mrs Mol
lie B. Moore answered the complaint
and denied that she had executed
the mortgages, but admitted in her
answer that she had sigued the
notes Very strong evidence was
produced before the referee showing
that she executed both the notes
and the mortgage. Site testified in
her own behalf stating that sho did
not execute the mortgages, .but did
sign the notes.

SOLI) AT AUCTION
Personal Property of J. N. Jenrettc
Sold Under Mortgage
Last Saturday, John U. McCaskbll,
as agent for the Con way Savings
Bantc and also for the B ;nk of Loris,
soid at public auction in front of
the town hall, a lot of household and
kitchen furniture' also somo tlll^e
furniture, including a L(,ox Typewriting
machine, to the highest
oidders, under various chattel
mortgages executed during the last
few years by J. N J en re tie, covering
the articles. The only items of
any yalue in tho lot were one Fox
type writer and one Singer sewing
' machine, and these failed to bring
more than half their value. Only a
very small percentage of the
amounts actually due under the
notes could bo obtained from the
property.
J. N. Jenrette is remembered
here by many friend who regret the
ill luck which seems to have been
following hirn for some years past.
He was elecied treasurer of Borry
Connty in 19o8 and fidod the cilice
for one term, Kenning for re-election
he was defeated. Later a
shortage in the cftiee was reported.
This was mentioned in the newspapers
last week, giving the report
or an expert sent no re to (igure it
up. Later other misfortunes followed
and finally left the State, no
doubt with the hope of engaging in
new fields and rebuilding his fortunes,
It is said that he is holding
a responsiolo position in the State
to which he went. When he becomes
able he will no djubt settle
np the balance due on several ob
ligations.
On last Salesday his house and
lot in Conway, anu a tract of land
belonging to him, situate in the
country, were soid at public auction
to satisfy several mortgages against
the property. The land lacked a
great deal of bringing the amounts
due.
