It is a good thing that the entire community is not made up of such people. Thov would favor attaching South Carolina to Africa if their minds got set that way, and give the proposition a majority when voted upon. The columns of this paper could not possibly hold all of the timely and well-written articles that came in last week, relating to the political situation. Many of such articles had to be left out. The article of 1 Jeremiah Smith came in among the tirst and it was published, not only for this reason, but because it con tained a summary of the various in- I dictments brought against Blease ' during the campaign, and it plar.ed the situation before the readers of our paper in a nut-shell form. The same article we notice was published in the Stath and News& Courier. This statement, was recently made, referring to support of Blease in the primary: "Those who vote for Blease and are ignorant of the character of the ir.au, may find iguorance their sole excuse, though iu law this excuse would uot. be considered valid, but those who know him, and still have cast their ballots 't him. show by this action that they are men of the same stripe as Blease. The church members and Sunday Sch ^oi teachers of all the denominations, and in general the law abiding element of the State, whether religiously inclined or not, could not consistently cast their bal lots for Blease. Good citizens recog nize the fact that safety lies in good government and a correct enforce meet of the laws under the constitu tion. This class of people we hope fnilprl t.n turn out to cast their vote for the man who said: "To Hell With the Constitution." Last week in the State of Californ ia, Clarence S.
