This honorable gentlemen and conscientious citizen, after many C weeks of suffering, passed to his eternal reward, at his resideuce near Homewood, early la9t Tuesday morning. He was about 50 years old, and is survived by a wife and several cbildreu. For several years E and until his death he was magistrate for the Adrian district., and while he knew nothing of Blackstone, he always tried to ascertain the facts in any and all causes coming before him in order that he might meet out justice to all. Ah a citizen and as a piece officer, his place will bo bard to fill, ? Entertainment Near Homewood. On last Thursday evening, Miss Alma Moore delightfully entertained a number of her young friends in I town out at her home in the Homewood sectiou . The party went out from Conway in a wagon, and the moon-light made it a most enjoyable ride. The best things were to come lifter. Miss Moore proved herself a eharming hostess indeed, and there Vas not a member of the party who did Dot enjoy the occasion greatly. Interesting games were played, after which refreshments were served by Miss Moore and her charming Sister. The parlor was decorated I with A wealth of freshly blooming roses, the perfume of which fiiled 4ha room. I 3-he color scheme of pink and green ?nd white was carried out in the tfBC&ption hall and parlor, where {fragrant roses added beauty to the tohartn of the decorations. The ^irests were met at the door by little Misses Aliene Spivey and Minnie | Colli ns, clad in soft pink drosses. An-interesting contest was indulged in, following which cards were dratvn. Miss Marjorio Quattlebaum drew the lucky number, which was 13, and received a box of Nunnally'sas a prize. Delicious salad with olives and sandwiches, tied witn green and white ribbon, were served by Misses Aliene Spivey and Minnie 1 Collins, while little Mildred Collins served the guest of honor a white salad on pink rose petals and her sandwiches had pink and white ribbon. This was followed by white frozen cream and white calte. during which time amusing discussions arose relative to proposals, ideals weddings were led by each guest drawing a slip with her topic on it. * As the guest departed each was presented with a handsome box tied with green and white ribbon, in which they wero requested to look to find a secret.
