A mistrial was ordered and the case will be tried again perhaps in December. Jno H Dixou has been connected with the li m of Neal& Dixon since they started business at Chat ham, Va.. and he has developed into one of the best warehousemen in Virginia. Deis now in the prime of life and full of energy and will, no doubt, add much to the tobacco interest of Mullins. You all know J S Deal, who is a thoroughbred in the wareh luse business. and has made for himself a high record as a warehouseman in Soulh Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia, and he needs no recommendation to the tobacco grower.1 of this section. Cotton Blooms. The Herald is in receipt of two cotton blcorns the (irst; coming from Walter Drew, of Wilson Landing and the secor.d fiom G Frank Sessions, of Willow Section. Both were pulled from the field on Sunday June, 18th but arrived at the Herald otlice in the order named. D H Lewi-:, of the Jordanvilie section is a good farmer, other crops as well as cotton. A fine bloom was . picked from his crop on June 10th, and was sent in to the Herald oflice, Mr W P Hardee was not to be out-done this week in the matter of cotton blooms. The Herald has one picked from his farm on June 19th. He has a line crop ol cotton. C., comes a cotton bloom this week from the well cultivated farm of C G llardee i Many cotton blooms are reported at his place, and one was sent to the Herald on Jane 18th. J W Full wood sr., has a cotton crop of fourteen acres near Singleton, S. C. Not withstanding the dr.v weather of this Sp?irg, bis crop is doing very wel'. He t-ends us a bloom which he picked on June 17th. In the Adrian section of the county, MrO W Hux has a piece of as | good cotton as can be found in any of the cotton growing sectitu. Hi baa at loom on June 17th. Those who have seen his cotton say that it is certainly fine. JH'On June 17lh, Mr John G Aller of the Blanche section was able t( show a bloom in his ten acre cut of cotton, his crop being among the finest in that section. Just before going to press with the isst e of this week, we are in receipt of another cotton bloom from the farm of E M Bullard on Loris. At Its meeting June 13-h, the Conway Union directed that this call for help should be sent to the papers and churches with the request that all the Christian people of Conway and Horry county would remember to appeal to Almighty God in behalf of the prohibition of the liquor trallic in Texas on the date given. They are working for the Seaboard Air Line, or its allied interest, and people in Mullins say, tnat it is tna purpose or tbe company to extend thoir road to Conway.
