The Executive Committee of the Democratic party of Horry county is called to meet in the court home in Conway on Monday, the 20th, inst., for the purpose of arranging its machinery for the conduct of the primary election. The Herald has by far the largest town, county and general circulation of any newspaper circulating in Horry county. This is no idle claim, but is the naked truth and backed up indisputable evidence. Those claiming to the contrary are invited "to make good", or forever hereafter hold their tongues, Manager Coles is rushing things at the new tobacco werehouse. The building is nearing completion and now it appears that everything will be in readiness to commence business when the season opens. With two warehouses in active operation the growers should be able to get the full value of their weed and this will go a long way toward inducing the tobacco growers to make Conway the placo to market their crop. We understand that J H Fordham, a negro lawyer of Orangeburg, has instructed Col C P Quattlebaum, United States Commissioner, tc write warrants against those persons lately convicted in the Mayor's court, as well as those presented by the grand jury of Horry for selling intoxicating liquors without a license. TLis makes the third t me for the most of them to have their liberty placed in jeopardy for the same ofTenee. ? ,? We have the utmost confidence in the good judgment of the building commission of Horry and are firmly convinced that the Commission has acted and is now acting in the matter of the bridges across the Waccamaw and over the Little Pee Dee rivers in a manner which is conceived to be for the best interest of these who are to be benefited by the building of these bridges. Perhaps the Comriisi.ion is going slow in arranging the preliminaries so that when the work is once started it can be rapidly pushed to com piotion without unncc3ssarv delay. Be this as |it may, however, there are many who are deeply concerned in reference to this delay aud are very anxious that the work be commenced at once. Notwithstanding the very inclement weather which prevailed all day Sunday, a goodly number of excursionists went over to the beach.
