The Herald covors Ilorrv like a spread. Lot the year 1910 bring the lieralu to your hotue. Mr Lyon's term of eight years as Attorney General is nearly completed and not one of the alleged dispensary grafters neither languishes ''behind prison bars" nor "wears the stripes." i We respectfully call the attention of the management of Conway Light and Power Co. to a matter that is a subject of much unfavorable comment and a source of considerable annoyance to many of its patrons. The current is cut off too soon in the mornings and not turned on soon enough in the evenings, especially is this the case in dark, cloudy days. ? Under an Act of Congress efYective since the 1st inst., packages containing intoxicating liquors carried from one State into another by common carriers, must be plainly marked with the name of their contents and the agents of common carriers are forbidden under a heavy penalty to deliver this class of goods to persons other than the consignees It is the opinion of some that tins ~:n ' " - it*w win suuuu ine death knell to the promiscious illicit traffic in blind tiger liquor as it will make it harder for the tiger to ship in enough of the stutT to supply the demand. There are others, just as honestly hold to the contrary opinion, contending that tho law will have no perceptable inlluence in reducing the amount of liquors sold in dry counties, as there are many ways in which the law can be etTectually evaded* Our opinion is, however^ that we will see what we will see. Dcatli of Andrew Fletcher Prince Andrew Fletcher Prince, born October 16, 1884, departed this transitory life December 24, 1900 and was buried the following day in the Princeville cemetery, being 25 years 2 months and Bdaysold at hi* death He was married to Miss Golda Rowell February 14th, 1005, who, with two children, a motlnr, two sisters and six brothers, besides a host of friends, survive to mourn his loss. He was a kind and an affectionate husband and father, loyal to his country and full of vim and energy. He joined tho Pleasant Home Baptist church and Sunday school early in life and remained a consecrated worker in each until his death. He seemed to prize his work as Hible class teacher in his Sunday school above all others, where his presence is sadly missed and whose voice has now ceased advocating the cause of Christ. He was a man of high ideals 1 . uiin c* sinning ngntin his communi-j ty whose life is worthy of imitation j The ties of affection are now severed in that home; and, oh! how sad it is, but all that a kind physician, mother and wife was done to stay the icy hand of death. His life was short but full of good deeds, and in the language of Paul he fought a good fight and kept tho faith and as! a brave soldier met his fale as Sle- j phen did with a bright and shining1; face. With this assurance we be-1 lieve him only asleep in Jesus' arms 1 and will meet his loved ones again ; in that resurrection morning. As a token of the high esteem in j which ho was held by his class and Sunday school, be it Resolved, That we humbly bow \ our heads in humble submission to j him who doeth all things well. Resolved, That we extend to the] bereaved family our deep and abiding sympathy and commend them to him who said, "I am the resurrection and the life." Resolved, That, a copy of these resolutions be filed in our minute book, and a copy be sent to each of our county papers for publication and a copy bo sent to the bereaved i f lainuy. Submitted by bis class and Sunday school committee, Miss Grade Stanley, Miss Nina Howell, Mr Johnie Bellamy. ?
