Sarvis in your paper under date of Dec. 31st, about the box supper at Hickory Hill School House, As I wrote the first and second article about the box supper, I did not wri* So much about the supper at Hickory Hill any more than I did at the rest of the places concerning the social gatherings like these. The first thing I find in Mr. Sarvis's article in the Herald, he speaks of religion, concerning the man that has religion and then attends box supper parties. No man lighteth a candle and then putteth it under a bushel. The man that has religion shows it wherever he goeth. Is a box nartva olace to show their religion? Thoro are sonic? that have professed religion in the past and then later as men and women that have professed to God in the forgivliess of their sins, and then you can see some of them with the worldly boys and you cant divide the sheep from the goats, and just such as these is the short tail goats as Mr. Sarvis speaks about which goes from one supper to another, going from one man's field to another seeking a place to enter in lrom supper to supper trying to get a piece of cake or some old shoe box or unother. Mr. Sarvis says that he always likes to be with the majority and anybody that has got any reasonable sense at all knows that the biggest bunch belongs to the devil, for broad is the road that leads to death and thousands walk together there, but straight and narrow is the road that leads to life and few there that be that find it. But 1 don't believe that Mr. Sarvis is with the majority on the school, and even if he was ho just guessed at it, because the trustees did not even go around to see the patrons to see who wanted the school to start when it did. Furthermore 1 have been informed that one of the trustees did not know anything about the school being run until about two months after it had started. After these things, how can a man tell when he is with the majority, 1 can truthfully say that he did not know about that and I dont believe that he cared. Now if it is necesssry, 1 will take a petition and carry it around and see about these things and 1 believe that 1 can prove these things to Mr. Sarvis and those that were in favor of the box supper were just merely two of the trustees and their relatives. About the stumbling block. Even if 1 did not roll a block or if it did not have any bearing on their elTort 1 still feel it my duty to continue to tell my neighbors and friends about it as it is accordiug to Gods holy word. No, he says that it is good to have some one to look ehead for me, as if tho blind lead the blind that they will all fall inio the ditch together. This is a true fact because it is recorded in God's word 1 am sincerely glad that T have as good a man to lead me as I have, and that is God, and would to God that Mr. Sarvis had this man to look ahead for him, if so, I don't believe that ho would lead Mr. Sarvis off t.c box supper parties because he telh me to stay away from all such pla cos, and suppose fie deals with al his children alike, because He has no respecter of persons. Don't think Mr. Sarvis is lead b\ the same man that J am led by 01 else he would buy him a Bible or a Testament or God's word in sorm form and would read it and get cou vinced in hisqasiest way and docidi to live for Gocl and consecrato hi; self a living sacrifice holy and ac ceptablo in tho sight of God, an< and join the church and be one o God's children, too. Mr Sarvis further states that h< is sure that we had just as good be havior that night at the box suppe as he has seen at a great many o my appointments. 1 will say to th< people that I never had but thro appointments in the service of Go in my life and that Mr Sarvis wa not prasent at either one of thes meetings. I had three appoint ments around among) the churche to address the people on foreig missions during October, 1908, an had very good attontion at ever place except one and I besbaine< them for it and would do so again: Question?Does tho Holy Spiri lead me always? Certainly, MrSar vis, it does, for if it did not lea me always it would not lead me an where. Now, ?Mr Sarvis is jus thinking about those fellows tha went to the box supper, Tliey thinl they are led by the Holy Spirit, bu it only leads them apart of the tirn and then let the evil spirit lead ther to the box supper. Mr Sarvis, if you wh get acquainted with God he will loa you by his Holy Spirit all alorq through tho hard places of life Kven when just such men asyouar trying to trip his children you ma, set a deadfall for this little child but you can't make him bite the bai for he will show me the hook tha you have got set at your party am I will not swim any whore near, therefore, you cannot tangle ino in inv Christian warfare. Neither did the Holy Spirit lead ine to lead my st.X'k into inv neighbor's turnipj natch. If 1 did the like it must have been when I was asleep, and i any slock has been turned into anybody's turnip patch it lias been kept secret until now. Mr Sarvis would vou testify to this or can you prove it? If so, please take further steps in the law and I will work it out on the gang, or else keep your mouth shut and not be like some lice or another which stays under the house to bark at a man. Why wait until I move clean out of your neighbor's neighborhood to tell these things on me? Would you, Mr Sarvis, like for me to tell just what I have heard on you? If you will bring up your reputation while I staid in the Pleasant Meadow neighborhood I will compare mine, if I have any, and see if yours and mine are alike. Then we will go to the J edge of Probate's otl'ue and see what ho has to say about it. Now, If Mr Sarvis does not know what, to think about my religion. I will say that if he was as sure he had religion as I am that I have it, I would have a better opinion of him than what I now have and that you may rest assured that if you get there before 1 do you may say. Well. Liittle Joe, will come after awhile, for he is on the wav and 1 can boar him singing, ''I am on my way to heaven, I am happy on the way, I will meet my blessed Saviour, bye and bye."
