l*cptil?licau Convention.
The Horry convention of the Republican
party was held here on the y
11th inst and elected the following c
delegates:?Geo. C Singleton and O. *
L. Levallie to the State convention;
R. J. Cochran, li W. Spain and P. 1
11. liellamy to the District conven- *
tion. Geo. C. Singleton was retain- 1
ed as county chairman. The con- c
vention was well attended, 28 dele- *
gates being present.
Those who attended say this was
the best county convention of the
party ever held in Horry county. 1
The session was characterized vvitlj.fi
peace and harmony, notwitli_^.r^f|, e
ing *\vas a bitter light being '
waged by O L. Levallio on one side J
and G. YV. Johnson on the other for
honors on one or the other of the 5
delegations, with the county chairmanship
also involved; Levallio favoring
the incumbont, G. C. Singleton,
Johnson opposing. In the convention
the Johnson force was out
general loci ami completely annihilated,
not having made one point to
their credit,
A resolution endorsing Fornker
was one of the enthusiastic features
of the convention. The policies of
.lio "Big Stick" man were not discussed.
The delegations have been
instructed for Foraker. "Pollux."
