THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29 1906 For the past, year or two Convta ha had what has been called a Busi no 5 Men's Union, organized fo the carrying oiit of plans for D* ino mmai benefit and advantage o the business men. The name implied that it was a union of bu?i l'oss men and men in the professi r and other callings in the town di not feel that they were at liberty ? become members. As a result th union has been composed chiefly of the merchants of the town, and very few others, we are informed belonged to it. This union has done many things not only for the busi- I ness interests of themselves but for the town as a whole, but it has been decided that it3 name and constitution and by laws are not as broad as Conway needs, and the Herald is informed bv some of the members that there is to be a reorganization under a different name, perhaps under the name of the Conway Board of Trade, and the objects and ai.TS of the new organization will be enlarged and broadened so as to meet the imperative demands of Conway as a town at this time. This is a step we are glad to see taken. Under ?he ne<\ constitution we suppose that every body will feel at liberty to join, the membership will bo more than doubled, and the Board will have tenfold the influence that it has hereto lore carried in the carrying out of the plans for Conway. The Herald hopes that nothing will interfere with the reorganization of the union. The right kind of organization and persistent efforts on the part of the ! business men here will bring abou< a great change that cannot be estimated in dollars and cents. After starting right the next thing to do is take up one thing at a time and pationtly work it until results are accomplished. The groat mistake too often made not onlybv bodies of men but by individuals is the effort o accomplish too many things at oui'O. Rome did not spring up in a day, and it takes more than a day to make a fortune. The Herald is glad to find all influences for the growth of Conway working together in harmony. There not now a sign of friction anywhere and as a consequence good results may be reasonably expected to follow. There is a large volume of trade that finds a market elsewhere which should be done here. A little persistent effort on the part of our people will turn it Conwayward. The effort is certainly worth trying anyway. Horry and Conway forever.
