Lumber at Plant of Burroughs
& Grant Lumber Company.
Capt. J. E. Coles, while in the drykill
at the plant of Burroughs &
Grant Lumber Co\ last week, was
caught between a pile of lumber
loaded on a truck at the door of the
building, and painfully mashed and
bruised before assistance could
reach him. There is an inclined
piano running into the dry-kill, and
one of the trucks heavily loaded
with lumber got loose and running
down ou him unexpectedly caught
between the ends of the lumber and
the door. As soon as assistance
could reach him the truck was forced
back, but Mr. Coles in the mean !
time had suffered serious injuries,
and that his injuries were no worse
under the circumstances was wonder- j
ful. A physician was summoned
and at last accounts he was doing
well and is expected soon to be fully j
recovered.

Had it not been for the presence

would probably have been a large

seeing the trouble, soi/.ed the lump

door, but the lump was too hot to
hold and it was dropped upon the

over the woodwork, carrying the
