Quite an enthusiastic meeting of the reunion committees was held in the Council chamber on Monday evening of last week, at which a majority of the committees were represented and reported progress Many matters of detail were discussed and a general programme arranged. Tt is expected that between two and three hundred old Veterans wih assemble here on the morningof the Dth of May. The citizens of the town arc making ample provisions to entertain all old soldier.-) f:ee of charge for the Uva days they are expected to tie here ? at least from Wednesday morning to Thursday evening. Gen. C. I. Walker of Charleston, is to deliver his noted lecture on the evening of the Dth. The Chapter of Daughters are preparing an excellent entertainment also that evening at which time several crosses of honor are to be conferred. Among theotherattractions it is being planned to have a boat excursion down the beautiful Wuccamaw. The headquarters are to be located on "Bake wood" Bavn, the beautiful park in front of the residence of Col. I). A. Spivey, and all Veterans are expected to report there when not otherwise on traced. Tents are to be provided in true military or war camp st yle. Noted ! speakers are scheduled for the 10th.
