Mr. and Mrs. 1). l'\ (Yre^u of Con way are hero for the holidays. Mr. Gregg says that the improvement in Conway continues. He attributes the recent boom in business there to the development of the country. The methods of farming have improved very much recently i and the farmers have money. Thev I are not satisfied now with thnsimnb. lives they have been living vie void of the comforts of modern improvements and conveniences ai.d they are spending the money they are getting improving things around them. Trucking industry lias given them a good deal of cash in the past year or two. business is built on a very substantial basis and will continue to improve as the money circulates. Mr. and Mrs. (Jregg are delighted with their new home there and say that Ihey have been most cordially received in Conway and delight fully treated by the good people there. In t lie general apportionment made for the su port of Connie i Maxwell Orphanage during the vear that has just passed, the Waccamaw Baptist association was requested to raise the amount of $187.00 in cash. When our report for the year was made op it was ascertained that Waccamaw association has contributed $280 10 It will thus be soon that she went considerably ahead of the amount requested of her, which speaks well for the generosity of the Baptist of tin1 county as well ns'fo* their kindness of heart. 1 feel that it is not out of place to recognize such an abundant good work as this, and wish to praise all those who had a part in attaining this good end. Tt is a pleasure to report that the Orphanage has had, on the whole, an encouraging year. A now house has been occupied and an increased number of children received.
