OUR COF Thursday December 14 1905. Illunche. Kditor Herald:?Please allow me space to make one more short reply 'o the ijuke Swamp correspondent in regard to book agents. He jumped on me as acting selfishly in reply to him. While 1 will admit there are not. many mortals that I know of, except my friend at the Swamp, that are not somewhat selfish. 1 will say that I am not a book agent, and since Observer is sc quick to jumu at conclusions, ii seems tj me from the tone of his writing that it is eminating from a sore head. Some smart book agent has likely got in tho field ahead of him and lie has now turned around and by his forceful writing aims to bring thein into disrepute. My reason for thinking this is that when my friend commenced to write down Ihe posts, he began too near the foot of the list. Hook agents are no worse than other people who ire trading, and ii we juuge < vil by results, they are not. as bad pests as peddlers and tree agents. Buy the books boys that you would probably never hear of.i' thev did not tiring them and learn Something about the world which you will have to wrestle with, and (lot) t let prejudiced people stoj you. If Observer's budget had been in tho shape of a jug, he would likely not have had the door shut iu his | uiw. i nave no idea who Ubservei is and moan nothing but ulit'le friendly argument. With best, wishes to the Ilerald and its readers. S. 1'. NlxoiivilJe. l'lif health of the neighborhood i> very good at this time.
