OUR COF
? : :
Plvaftcnt IHII.
We are having very dry weather
now and some what cooler.
The health of this community is
very good at present.
We have no marriages to report at
present but would not be surprised
to hear the bell jingle at any time.
Jot ton picking is pretty wellovor
and as the price kept up very well
people have been selling very rapidly.
We hope noouc will sell cotton
below ten cents as the stake is sure
worth the money.
Messrs. John Squires and M. S.
Barnhill killed live wild turkeys
Friday night which 1 would consider
much better sport than shooting
colored laborers.
We trust that every good moral
citizen of Horry is satisfied with
the result of the election on the third
but let me tell you some of the
tipplers are looking very sad about
tlih matter,
We are st ill having a line Sunday

The weather has been fine for
gathering of the crops and their has
been so much cotton ginned in this
community in September, and most
of it has been put upon the market
there is no doubt about the crop
being vory short and very early,
this being the case it will not last
much longer.

Horry are blessed with mother wit,
and manly get up, enough, to turn
out on election day and free themselves
from such an evil as the dispensary.
They have taken a very
important step, and we hope that
they may keep on stepping in this
way and at last reach the heights of
success.
A. C. E
You will certainly miss an opportunity
if you fail to call on Calhoun
tfc Cannon in the next thirty
days.

Calhoun & Cannon prices can't be
