General Superintendent W. C. Gnusc seated the dilTorent Schools called on J. T. Floyd to sing "Jesus Lover of my Soul," etc;. Prayer was then ,ottered by the Rev. J. B. 1 Skipper, after which the Secretary read the by laws and constitution. Bethlehem school was called first. Mr. D. H. Todd had his class ready and sang three songs. On last Sunday ut Cedar Grove baptist church, at about ! o'clock he people began coining from every lirection. At 10:30 o'clock a mass necting was called and the follownado short talks. F. G. The .pooches were spicy und to the point. \t this point a letter from New LJrooklyn Baptist church was read iskitig help to rebuild the house of worship which was destroyed by tire March 1005. A collection was raised for the stricken church. The pastor then preached the missionary sermon. He used his large mission map of the world. He talked only eighteen minutes. The people gave rapt attention and responded with a tine collection for missions. After the benediction everybody moved over to a large grove and partook of a bountiful dinner which had been prepared by the good women of the community. There was plenty lor all. After a reeess of one hour and a half the neoplo returned to the house and listened to a good gospel sermon by ltev II. H. Holmes, one of the oldest preachers in the county. Bro. It. O. Hendricks closed with a soul stirring exhortation. Everybody enjoyed themselves. May Heaven's richest blessings rest upon tho good people of Cedar Grove community. An enterprising land dealer, D. P. Green, was here a few days ago. It will be remembered that. Mr. Green claimed to have bought some shares in the little farm about three miles from hero known as the W. E. Porter place and has since moved there. Mr. Green since bought an old colored man's claim in a piece of lane* which Capt. Z. W. Dusenbury claims and has deed and furthermore has been paying taxes on this little tract for thirty years. Quite a large crowd attended church 011 last Sunday to witness the ordanation of Prof W. A. Prince to the office of deacon in his church. The ordanation sermon was delivered by the pastor, the Rev. (1. W. Stanley. The Presbytery consisted of the pastor, Elder J. H. Stanley and deacon, W. J. Hardee. It was conducted in a most graceful manner, the Elder J. II. Stanley leading the prayer.
