A big crowd is expected and they may bo assured that good order will be maintained. Picnic at Green Sea. ' There was a picnic at Green Sea last Saturday attended by a very large crowd of people. There were good things to eat in plenty, and peace and good order prevailed throughout the day. On Sunday the Rev. D. F. Crosland conducted farewell services at Hocey Camp church in the presence of a largo congregation. It was a very interesting meeting and productive of much good, several conversions being reported. How is Till* for Snakes. Mr. J. A. Hardee, a farmer who lives a few miles from Conway, broke the record for killing rattlesnakes last week. On Monday he killed one measuring four feet in length. In the battle with the snake, the rattles were smashed so that there were only six that could be counted. On last Thursday Mr. Hardee killed another rattlei (measuring five and a half feet and having soventeon rattles. It was only the warning sound of the rattles that saved Mr. Hardee from being bitten. Hound Over to Court. (Jeorge Cox, a white man, was committed to jail hero last Friday under a commitment issued by Magistrate A. A. Mosely at Little River under a charge of larceny of live stock. The warrant was issued at the instance of A. J. Todd, whose cow, it was alleged had been killed and stoicn by Cox. A preliminary was granted the prisoner before Magistrate Mosely on Thursday. The charge was made out and J. II. 15. Edge was appointed as special constable to bring the prisoner down to jail. />\ind l>o ranged W. L. Uousend a young man of twenty-three years of age, son of Mr. lien Uousend, the well known painter, was examined last Monday by two physicians and adjudged insane. Judge 11. N. Sessions signed an order committing him to the State Hospital for the insane. It is greatly regretcd by the young inan's friends. He had been acting and talking in a strange manner for a week or more. It was said that he had been in the habit ofj drinking cocoa cola to excess. From these facts his friends hope that his derangement is of a temporary nature, and that he will soon recover under proper treatment. An Ordinance of the Town of Con way. lie it ordained by the Intcndaut and Wardens of the town of Conway in Council assembled, and by authority of the same: Section 1. That on and after the ratification of this ordinance no human body shall be interred or buried within the corporate limits of the town of Conway, except in the new cemetery for white persons known as Lakeside Cemetery. See. 2. That no disinterrment or exhumation of a human body shall be made in the said town of Conway after the ratification of this ordinance without the written consent of the Intcndaut and the Chairman of the Hoard of Health of the Town of Conway, and then only under the supervision of the said Chairman of the Hoard of Health and in such manner as hr pjay direct. Sec. 14. That any one violating either of the forgoing sect ions of this ordinance, or any part thereof, or who shall direct or procure the same to be done, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars or bo imprisoned at bapd labor on the works of the said Town for a period of not less than twenty days. Adopted and ratified this the thirteenth day of June A. D. 1904. I State Militia Encampment.
