now regret it, had they voted for
the now court house last summer
The county should have a new court
house because it can afford it and
needs it.

ces, we think tobacco will bring this
year. Many have expressed their
opinions on tbj subject. We have
to sey that no one can tell what the
prices of tobacco will be, no more
than one can tell the future prices
of any other article. It is thought
by Borne that the prices realized
this year will not be as high as thoy
were last year, but there is no cer
tainty about this. But tobacco will
pay the farmers us well as cotton

plant tobaoco entirely, but we would
plant both if we could.

of a happy wedding-last Wednesday,
their beautiful and accomplished
daughter Miss Dulah, becoming the
bride of Mr. I).'Frank McGougnn of
Green Sea.
The ceremony was performed by
the Rev. I). FJCrosland, the pastor
of Conway Baptist church. Only a

were present.
Mr. McGougao is a rising young
business man of the upper portion
of our county.

It was raining but the patrons and
scholars didn't seem to mind it \
much, by the crowd that gathered. \
The pupils indulged in a spelling (
contest to the delight of their spec- v
tutors until it was quite time for
dinner. Then the table was laid
with many dainties and we were y
told to just help ourselves, and we
proceeded to do that very tiling.

teams known as Horse-pen-branch
and Toddville. They played a very
interesting game, the Horse-pen
team winning the game. 17 to 11.
After the game was over the
scholars all reassembled at the
school house and entertained their
hearers enthusiusticaly with their
most eloquent speeches.
