The. time has boon when tho North could look upon the South as a section not to be noticed. The North was ahead in everything, especially in power and in wealth. Thank Heaven that time is past. Tho South is beginning to show not only to the North bu' to the whole j world that she is the equal of any section of the great country of which she forms a part. She is forging ahead in manufacturing and along all lines. She is demonstrating that she is able to take cure of her elf. The North observes all of his with a jealous eye, and the Crumpacker resolution is not the least of the means the North will use, infuthering her ends. Our Congressman, It. H. Scarborough, put himself on record last week as opposed to this hateful malicious measure A Washington despatch to the Florence Times, in reference to his speech, says: ''Congressman Scarborough made his first big sot speech in the house yesterday and has been highly complimented on it. In the outset I want to say that what would suit one person, might not suit another, and to any one eonteinplat ing moving to Florida, or, going to any other country, my advice is first, go yourself, look at the country, slay long enough to study its advantages and disadvantages, then if you like the country, it will be time enough to sell what you have and move ycur family. From what 1 have learned about Florida 1 have to say that all a man needs to make a living hero is application and industry. There are so many things here that one may do that it would make aie tired to mention all of tlioin.
