Holt made a capturei last week that will rate him as a first class officer. Having a warrant for Council Hodge, chaig?d with shoot, ing with intent to kill recently near lioris, Mr. Holt after several unsuccessful attempts, succeeded in capturing his man. Learning of the probable whereabouts of Ilodge, he started in that direction and after a while saw a considerable number of men approaching him and apprehending that Hodge was in the party, told his companion that if he hunched him to wheel the horse instantly. The signal being given, Mr. Holt jumped out and thrusting his pistol in the face of his prisoner, forbade his moving on penalty of his life. Divesting him of a stick, knife and pistol, he was ordered to take a seat on the vehicle and being driven to the nearest railroad station was lodged in jail here Wednesday. The party of men were on their way to (icorgia and but for acting so promptly, it would doubtless have been some time before the capture could have been made, if ever, as the party would have soon been in another State. - ???
