Ilelieving that 1 have many friends in llorry who would he glad to know of my whereabouts for the year '94, 1 ask space for a few lines. Mnnv I - J of your leaders know that for the past three yours I have been serving Bayboro circuit as supply. While I realize fully my inability and weak, ness as a preacher, yet Cod in Heaven knows that 1 did the very best I could in the circumstances by which 1 was surrounded. 1 may have left undone some things that should have boon done and have done some things that should not have been done; but, if so, it was certainly an error of the head and not of the heart. During my stay on Bayboro I learned to love a great many people. We may learn to love many, yet thoro are others we can love only for Christ's sake. I can truthfully say to my successor, the Uev. \V. 0. Cleaton, that he lias never preached to a more kind hearted, appreciative, thorough, and generous Christian people in all his lilt-, than he will (ind in his charge. He has some members who give their tenth; but, sorry to say, there are others who keep all their ten tenths and seem to wish there was another tenth to keep. 1 had many pleasant and tin- I pleasant duties to perform during my three \ ears pastorate on that cir cuit; hut I suppose, that is about the way with all preachers who try to do their duty. 1 have left not only Bayboro circuit. hut also I lorry county and while I am delighted with my new home in Marion County, near the J I i: r.. I have no pastoral work this year. I have arranged to do evangelistic work with tho brethren of the conference just anywhere that my services may be needed. With best wishes to the IIicuai.d and Happy New Year to all, I am yours respectfully. A. M. Dusknuury. Mill 1 ins, S. C., .Ian. 1, '94. Thanks! To tno li'ditorof tlio 11k halo:? Please allow me space in your columns to notice a very pleasant little surprise on the night of the 21st, of December, given the inmates of the Conway Circuit Parsonage by some of the young people of Conway. Christmas was near at hand, when young hearts are light and young faces bright. Thus it proved on this occasion. They came as merr^ as the Christmas bells, each bearing in hand a package containing some useful inticlo for the home, and some of the real e senials of a parsonage. These tokens coming as they did, so generously and quietly could but make the pivacher and his wife glad. We will not try to tell how much we appreciated this pounding by these light hearted young folks of Conway. But the memory of that night will over make a bright spot on the pathway of life. Of course the young folks entered into some innocent games and whiled away tho bouts pleasantly. Then as silently as they came they took their departure and left us in better spirits with brighter hopes and a clearer sky. We thank them and hope that heaven nmv bless them.
