started in Conway at an early day.
J. M. Oliver and I J. T. Ilynian have
formed a co-partnership and will
run a business in the new store of

A lien belonging to Mr. \V. L.
Hardee on Ruck Creek was accidentally
covered in a barrel in a barn
and remained for about seven weeks
without food or water. She was
nearly starved, but has recovered.
The heavy freeze interfered with
holding the first Quarterly Confer
ence for Conway Circuit at the time
appointed, and therefore the time
has been set for February 22nd, at
Zion Church.

There is somo dissatisfaction with
the disposition of the monev realized
' from the sale of bonds based upon
the mortgage of the W. C. & C.
railroad, and the commissioners on
, their return from Wilmington in
consultation agreed to call a Township
meeting in each railroad town*
! ship to consult about the ways and
means to send a committee to Wil
' mington to1 thoroughly investigate the
books of the old Company. The
plan is for each railroad township to
meet on Saturday Feb. 11, and t.tio
people to confer as to ways and
means, appoint delegates to meet
in Conway on Wednesday Feb. 15,
and this meeting 'ducts the committee.
The investigation will cost
something and each railroad town
ship is expected to supply its pro
rata share.
