Now it will be in order for some one to introduce a hill making the Auditor perform the duties formerly done by Hoard of Couu-j ty Commissioners, that office having j been abolished by vote of the people j at the recent election, and we will begin to get down to "hard pan." | The House bill requires the An-1 ditor to perform the duties of Super-! visor of Registration without any ' compensation, the report of the Sen a to I till does not state whether he will also be deprived of the princely income of the .Jury Commissioner which is about eigfd dollars a year in this County. Shot a I>og iiihI Killed a Negro. Last Thursday afternoon John L McLuuiin Ks<|, of llounettsville shot a dog prowling about his prcinit?e? with a shot gun loaded with shot. After shooting the dog Mr. McLau rin went back into the house and was surprised a short time afterwards when a negro came to him and told him that he had killed his brother Some of the shot which were intenJed for the dog had missed their mark or glanced and killed the negro while riding by it a wagon. Mr. McLaurin did not even see the negro when he shot. The coroner's jury pronounced the killing of the negro purely accidental.?
