Kurle, will you be a candidate before the coming nominating convention for the ollice of governor, and will you stump the state during the campaign?" Col. Kurle responded: "I will not stump the state unless it be to deny the charges of corruption and extravagance made against the present administration. This 1 will certainly do, so far as it relates to the office of attorney-general. One hardship to American ship pers proposed to he corrected was to I dispense wit h consular certification regarding a ships cargo. This oc easions great delay and expense when 'it is considered that a steamer's time is wort h $1000 a day. It is proposed to establish an international Ibink with a l\ S. charter and branches in each of the con trading countries. There are no | hanking facilities between North and South America; a want that is fatal to large commercial relations between the two continents.
