We see familiar natms there This means pledges being paid. Lutherans may not be to entbokiMtieus tome others who are rolling up fabalons century sub scriptions, but they are honest and mean what they say. We rejoice in tbe solidity of this work among nor churches, and are eonAdebt that the figures are reliable up to tbe last dollar. In tbs report to he submitted at the United Synod in May we contemplate finding t.o entries under tbe head of over due subscriptions.'' That Flasl Circular. Elsewhere in this issne of Tba Visitor will be found a copy of a circular letter issued by the cen tury committee, to which we re spectfully call tbe attention of all tbe friends of tbe cause. To the float report therein named tbe Cburcb will look forward with no little interest. In three months from this date delegatee will be on their way to tbe United Synod at Charleston. Tbis will perhaps be one of the most enthusiastic conventions yet held. It will be largsly attended not obly by *ynodical delegates but by Lutberens from different states. Enthusiasm in behalf of this century cause will fun high as belated returns shall push the figures close to the thirty thousand dollar mark. It is yet an open question which of tbe eight synods will respond with tbe greatest unanimity. There are some churches in each synod yet to be heard from. If at the Charleston convention it could be announced that every church in the United Synod had made an of fering to the Century Memorial a wave of enthusiasm would pass over that body which would great Jy disturb its wonted composure. Antiphonal glorias and atnens m the defiance of liturgical rubrics Light Biscuit Delicious Cake Dainty Pastries Fine Puddings Flaky Crusts would claim high privilege on the ground of emiuent propriety and the fitneaa of tbioga, and even bia- tine 8t. John'a wonld be tbe richer in worthy memoriale. And we all may abare in the glory of tbe great aocompliabmeet. Aa tbe hero of Santiago aaid i "There ta glory enough for oa all"; bnt it wonld be well for each ooe of oa to be in cooperative alignment. Robert C. Holland. CXVTURY MIMORIAL FUHD Cash Receipt*.
