Xkwhpapkk Dmmoxi—At tbe recent term of onr District Coart a suit was determined at Hie suit of the Galve&toil Xeff*, involving a question of some interest to ptili- lishers of new*(iapcrs and tlieir sub scribera. The defendant had pn>|sdil his subscription to tlie JS’em for six months, afire the expiration of which time, without any express renewal of the subscription, tlie publiahers con tinued to send the poper nnd ttm subscriber to trevive if. Wbeh the bill was presenfed the subscriber taftwed to pay it, on tbe ground tlrat having sub scribed and paid for a definite lime, and not having uathbrireri a ettn- tinnanrtp It was the duty of the publisher to discontinue the p«|>er at the eud of the term. Tlie plaintiffs contended that upon tlie facta there was an Implied contract to pay fbr the paper at the rates previously a greed upon, snd that it was Ibe duty of the subscriber to refuse to receive tbe paper, If he did not in tend to pay for it. The verdict of the conrt was for the plaintiffs, thus affirming tlie cor rectness <ft tlie Xetr*. We under stand that the case w ill not be ap pealed to tbe Supreme Court by the defendant, and the decision of the District Court therefore stands for law.—Urenham Banner. tuMUtifimn Visiior*. In other words, that in some mystical way, inaxpli cable to the human senses, w# tvs reive, with tbe liread ami wine, the body sad blood of Christ; according which time they hnd struggled to Ilia own word* ‘this ia aty body,* ngainBt poverty, obscurity, and to *t!iht ia my Wood.’" some extent, a prejudice against foreign birth which belonged to (Jk most of tltem. Tlie churdi also teaches the neees sity of confession, both public and prlvrte. It claims to bare derived hnrtntlonn, onuiroamls snd precepts, yon will observe that there IS no j difference auy where made between the duties of the heart nfnl the du ties of the hands : bedfliiac these are indissolubly linked tu tho imtura! order of n mutual dcjicmlence, and no one event cAtl occur In tho heart or n man wit hoot them-other events to which It la tied iu the order of antecedent and consequent. Thus, if yon are commanded to search the Scrlptnres, it is because it leads to the discovery of troth, xtnd the dis covery of truth leads to couviction, and conviction lead* to conversion; and theac have jnst the mwttuil de- pendenre w hich tbe match, the fuse, the powder, and the bursting of the rock hare upon each other.
