Birthdays Celebrated. Monday last was the birthday of two well known citizens-Mr. T. B. Fraser and his son-in-law Mr. J. H. Parish-the first 55 and the second 65 years. Mr. Fraser WOB born on the Ervin farm within two mile? of town, and still lives about tho same distance. Mr. Parish, for convenience, cel ebrated his birthday Sunday, and all of tho family connections of both were present, except Mrs Robert Edens of Sumter and Willie Fraser of Hurtsville about 36 in all. On Monday Mr. Fraser celebra ted his, and all of tho same party wore present and had a royal good ronnion. There was not a large crowd in town on the first Monday on ac count of tho sudden ohango in the weather. The Clerk of Court sold one piece of real estate-the B. H. Covington lot in Blcnhoin to B. L. Jones for $200 and cost of papers. There were no special exhibits, but tho horse swappers were hore and some exchanges made. The were no accidents or inci dents worthy of note. Don't fJivo Satisfaction. A suboriber in Brownsville says the delay of R. F. D's in leaving Bennettsvillc prevents patrons from getting mail the same day, as the carriers leave Blnnheim before the arrivals of tho mail from Bennetts ville. The dailies also aro two days old when they get them. Either the carriers at Blenheim should wait or the ones from Ben ncttsville leave earlier, to make daily commotions, Boat on tho Pee Deo. Mr. Sam Sparks, of Georgetown, has taken tho contract to build a steam boat to rua from George town to Cheraw, and to have it ready by August, in time lor fall business. David of Rocking ham, N. C. Tho morning services nt tho town churches were well attended, and many pretty Easter costumes wero seen, in spite of tho weather. Tho heavy rains provontcd any afternoon or night services. A Cow's Appetite. Several years ago a farmer near Chosterfiield whose modes ty iorbids the publication ol' his name, hung his vest on a barn yard fence? A calf chewed up a pocket in the garment in which was contained a stand ard gold watch. Last week the animal, a staid old milch cow, was butchered for beef and tho time piece was found in such a position botween the luugs of the cow that the process of res Siration had kept the stem win er wound up, the watch had lost but four minutes and two and a half ticks in seven years.
