McLaurin in ono of his telling speeches, ably supported by Messrs. W. D. Evans and J. P, Bunch, were adopted : WHEREAS, Thc farmers of the State in thc Convention ot March, IH90, adop ted a platform of principles, embodying measures ol reform in political matters, and certain cardinal doctrines, and whereas such action at this time is deemed not only necessary, but expe dient, for thc advancement of thc true interests ol the State, anti whereas sys tematic and untiring efforts arc being made to defeat thc Farmers' Hclorm Movement, so as to perpetuate a politi cal oligarchy. Therefore bc it Resolved, That this convention cn dorses thc platform of the March Con vention and its exponent, Captain B. H. Tho convention then adjourned. BEN IN REI) KILL. EDITOR MARLBORO DEMOCRAT : Red Hill Democratic Club .met, July 5, eWcted its old olficers, a solid Tillman delegation to thc County Convention, adopted the convention instead ol the primary plan, which was lollowed by loud cheers for Tillman by every mem ber of the Club. The anti's were in a very large minority. We Tillman men arc democrats, And arc true as steel can be; Relorm we want, reform we'll have, And have it free from "rmgster's" salve. Wc can't be bought, nor can't bc sold, Neither thc young, nor e'en thc old ; "Farmers are fools," thc ring men said, Rul this is taffy, and is dead. Thc. anti's will bc apt to see, That they'll from "ring rule" have to tlee; They can't elect their ringster men, But we'll elect dear Captain lien. Farmers all want that which is right, And for ii they will always tight; They want some meat, and not all bone, That they may grow and get full grown. We want free money-silver, gold ; Ringstcrs oppose it, we arc told ; But wc will have it our way, By working for it night and day. We've got thc inside track to-day, So ring men and ring papers Bay ; If this new statement is a fact, lt proves that there's no outside track. 'Tis strange, and we can't think it right, For those who're wrong to rule lor spite, And rule lor their own pockets loo, And rob thc Gentiles and the Jew. ll" men who're sanctified should cling To thc wrong, and to thc ring, They should bc named old Bill Paddy, Who'd tell more lies than his daddy. "I promise you that 1 will do," And fail to clo it, is so true, And such a course will trouble bring, In or out of any ring. B. R. Tillman takes the lead, And will get thc thing wc need, When he sits on that big chair, In Columbia's bracing air. * * * x- * * Wc must watch both State and Nation, And must work like al! creation, And it must meet our approbation, To stick together in our relation.
