At Columbia on Thursday, Judge Earuest Gary rendered a most important decision along new lines. There are several cities in the State where the water supply is furnished by separate and private copora tions' The coutracts in the various cities may differ, and in that way there may be a differ ence between the case just de cided -und the legal status iu othei cities. Judge Gary has rendered a decision that private citizens may sue a water sup plying company for not having a proper water supply in case of (ire. ' Judge Gary, in his opinion, stales that this view of the lia bility of the corporation to the individual citizen is new, and uot usual, but the issue appears to be new in this State nud may eventually have to go through the Supreme Court. The ca'se at issue was from Camden, where a citizen lost a $15 000 building by n as >n of there being no water pressure at the time the lire broke out. PERSONAL, Rev. L. A.
