In offering myself again as u candidate fur this position, I will say that my platform is the same as it was four years ago. To obtain the confidence of the people should be the am bitiou of every Solicitor. It should be his duty and uot his desire to convict. Ho represents the defendant as well as the State, and between tho two he should keep the scales of justice eveuly balanced. His aim! should be for the truth, whether ' I itcouvicts or acquits. Justice should be his watchword aud not the number of convictions lie can obtain. By such action he will get the confidence of the people aud there will be more convictions. This year Kershaw county has a candidate in the field. Next to Mr. Clarke, I believo I have the greater claim upon the voters of this county, and should for tune place me and not Mr. Clarke in tho second race, I will be deeply grateful for the support of the voters of Kershaw county.
