The Brickmnn Verdict Paid.
The verdict in tho famous
' Brickman case has been paid at
last. Clerk of the Court Tate on
last Saturday received a voucher
from the Southern railway for
,524.95 and promptly deposit
ed the same in the Loan and Sav
ings bank. The voucher repre
sented $40,000 of verdict, a little
over 4,000 of interest and the
balanco costs. Mr. Holmau' of
the firm of Legare & Holman,
came up from Charleston yester
day, and the whole matter was
settled to the satisfaction of

The annual entertainment of
the Timrod Literary Society of
the Camden Graded school will
be given at the Opera House to
morrow night.
The program is elaborate, and
the exercises will surpass any
previous effort of tlie managers.
They will consist of innsic, de
bates, declamations and reading.
One feature, the Sougs of all
iMations, to be participated in by
a chorus of fifty voices will be
especially fine.
The committee on award of
medals consists of Messrs. E. C.
von Tresckow, Li. T. Mills and

The annual vacation of teachers
and scholars of our city schools,

and pupils, and will deliver the
medal to tho honor graduate of
the high school course. Rev.
C. C. Herbert, chairman of the

pose, will deliver the medal to
the writer of the best original
composition during the year.
The closing exercises of the
Jackson school were held last
night at the? school building.
Those of Mather Academy will
be held to-night at Trinity M. E.
church. The diplomas will be
presented by Rev. J. li. Taylor.

Atlanta, Ga.

The deceased was the wife of

She leaves a devoted husband, a
little infant, and a large family
connection to mourn her loss.

little Zimmerman Myers, third
