Riley & Haigler Bros, of Swansea, charging bid with obtaining goods under false pretense to the amount of ${>5. Smith is a contractor and it seems that he built the storehouse of the late W. H. K Kast at Swansea, and it was while he was doing the work, it is alleged, that he secured the goods. The arrest was made at the home of his father-in-law, Mr. Paul Shealy, at Leesville, where he has a wife anl an infant only about a week old. Havird for murder. It will ' be recalled that Havird was indicted c at the December term of court on j the charge of killing a negro some 1 ten years ago. Upon a true bill being i found his attorney moved for a change of venue upon numerous affidavits to the effect that it was doubtful if Havird could get a fair and impartial trial before a Saluda , jury.
