Mordecai Ks<p President of the Raleigh and Gaston Rail Road Company, and Mr. Harnett, Engineer of that Company, who arc now engaged in a reconnaissance of the o r? route for the Raleigh and Columbia Rail Road. \V e were glad to learn from them that they found the part of the route which they passed from Raleigh to this place as favorable at least as they had expected. The schooner Bryan, which arrived on Saturday from Brazoria, brought us a tile of the Texas Telegrcph to the 'J 1st ult. After the occupation, commissioners were to be sent forward to the government of Texas to treat for peace and independence.
