With the Rrltlsh Expeditionary
Force, Nov.. 2, 19IS.—Dear Editor
if The Press and .Standard: If you
will allow me space in your valuable
paper for a few lines to the folks it
home and to soldier’s mothers.
After service in France I am now
at a rest camp. All the days here
are so cheerful that one would think
they had n© care In the ^ world.
There Is. however, one terrible
thought in our minds: in the very
near future the watl will have at
last reached its end and the boy.i
will be coming home. Thousands of
the brave ones we loved will be miss
ing. May'we beg the mothers, wives
and sweethearts of these truly brave
boys to remember when that day ar
rives that far from being a day of
sorrow, for them It should be a
thanksgiving to, have bred and loved
such noble sons, . *
These lads had but one thought
as they cheerfully met death, and
that was their loved ones at home.
Ma> those left to mourn remem
ber that they inherited all that was
prea, and noble -in those grand men
of America, blood and hone, for
truly they cave their lives that we"
may live, and they have 'now'come
into their own if those behind only
fae#e (he future as those brave lad t
faced the past they will find true
consolation.
1 will ring off, as 1 am in a hurry.
Wishing all thokpeople jn dear old
