It is said to (obtain fine farming land*, but is sujch a small area that no great fight will be made over the matter of* annexation, and as prac tically all of the voters 6f the terri tory in question are in favor of tho change the addition of this territory to Bamberg county is almost a cer tainty. . Several months ago' a petition with the names of all the voter* ex cept one feslding in the. proposed addition wa* presented to the gover nor asking that a comtpission be ap pointed in regard to the matter, and that an election be held for the pur pose of coming into Bamberg coun ty. On Monday Governor Manning appointed the following member! of the commission: H. S.-Padgett a»d W. A. Smith, of Bamberg county, and J. M. Strickland and A. R. B. Smith, of Colleton county. It Is hoped that the election cab be held some time between now and Christ mas so that the legislature cap take definite action on the matter of this addition to Bamberg county Rf Its next session.
