This case was the most interest ing of the session, and was fought with ability by the attorneys on each side. I). B. Peurifoy, Esq., repre sented the defendant: Solicitor War ren', the State. The State introduced considerable testimony purely of a circumstantial nature, there being no eye witnesses. The defense put up no witnesses. The defendant has been released on. a $1,000 bond. Mr. Vi>u«i previously had some correspondence with this party. • This loan will be for the $24,OtH) provideif to take care of all past due indebtedness of the county up to January. 1, 15117. and for the $40.- 000.00 provided for the expenses of the.county fdr this xear. Those who handled this matter feel that the county is fortunate in se«”jring a rate of 5 ^er cent for this loan.
